Day 52 Another Way
Snail Oops
I'm trying to keep this blog as honest as I can.
So here's a real blooper!
I wanted to try sand casting as a second "working upside down" challenge.
In working 3-D and upside down I lost all awareness of depth and proportion! YIKES.
I documented some of the steps with photos [see below] and I like the process enough to try it again sometime . . . maybe with wax?
1. Container of damp sand and a mixture of Plaster of Paris and water.
['Forgot to photograph the empty molded sand which was the next step.]

2. Plaster in carved out recesses of sand (the mold).
3. 1 hour later: Digging out firm plaster object.
4. After "snail" has been removed from the sand mold.
