Day 107
Challenge:
Use/make a ball. Play with it!

Ball Snail In Play
I've had the ball for a year or two.
Found it on a college roommate road trip!
I think it was part of a yard sale from an abandoned storage unit.
I'm told it is a Kitten Ball.
It is really big.
Here's what I've learned about the game from the Website noted below:
"The first version of softball was invented
in Chicago, Illinois on September 16, 1887 by George Hancock,
as a winter version of baseball. It was intended to be a way for
baseball players to keep in practice during the winter.
At the time, the sport was called
“Indoor Baseball.
The name softball dates from 1926.
It was called indoor/outdoor, baseball, kitten ball, diamond ball,
mush ball and pumpkin ball, but it was decided to call it “softball”
in 1926 after a Denver YMCA official
suggested the name."

I can tell by the blemishes embedded in the leather that the ball has taken run-earning flight a good number of times!
But Izzy has those stories.

One Question:
If an ordinary object could be tracked throughout it's life . . . "dust to dust" as my engineering son, Brian, would say . . .
might it be extraordinary?!!
