thinking about making art 365

On the 4th of January, after considering possible themes for my art 365 challenge (stars, faces, cats, anything "paper", altering found objects, alphabets, words, cards and gifts, environmental) I chose to focus on snails.

I determined that I will create, title, photograph, and post each snail on this blog.
Postings may include some form of an artist statement and perhaps some inspiration, as the world shares with me.

You can't learn from remembering.
You can't learn from guessing.
You can learn only from moving forward at the rate you are moved,
as brightness, into brightness.

--Sarah Manguso

And thus, I move forward!

Day 1 of 365
Snail on the Rocks
[Make it small and from objects near you.]

Day 2 of 365
Cat Snail
[Be inspired by a favorite animal.]

 Day 3 of 365
Snail with Shadows
[Use paper without cutting, gluing, or drawing upon it.]

Art notes to self:

use camera tripod
use natural light for photos
learn about snails

And a good day to us all!
