Tape Snail
This is some kind of powerful filament tape,
but in this photo it looks surprisingly like
the soft folds of silk or satin!

One question that I just now thought of when it is too late to really do much about it:
Q: Yikes! Will this snail come off [without removing the mirror from the wall]?
